Applications Support Analyst (part-time)

About the role

Join our dynamic team in a part-time permanent role as a 2nd/3rd Line Applications Support Analyst and play a pivotal role in supporting our systems and applications. This second-line position involves handling technical and complex calls escalated from the helpdesk. As the first point of contact within the Applications Support team, you'll provide expert technical support for critical IT applications used by the Council. Our team is expanding with large new projects and digital initiatives like AI and the Innovation Hub, offering a chance to make a significant impact during an exciting period of growth and change.

What will you be doing?

Your days will be varied - from conducting root-cause analysis to resolving complex technical issues escalated from the helpdesk. You’ll manage queues of support calls, handle incidents and service requests, and provide technical guidance to users and colleagues alike. You’ll also contribute to maintaining technical documentation and support materials.

You’ll have the chance to work with a wide range of services including Adult Social Care, Children’s Services, Education, Housing, and Regulatory Services - no two days will be the same. You’ll also support wider project teams with tasks such as software updates, change control processes, and system testing.

About you

As an Applications Support Analyst, you have a knack for delving into complex issues and finding effective solutions through thorough analysis of available information. You approach challenges with composure and a methodical mindset, ensuring tasks are handled thoughtfully and efficiently. 

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about problem-solving and has a natural affinity and understanding for technology. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll collaborate seamlessly with both technical and non-technical users. Attention to detail is your forte, and you thrive in a dynamic environment where multitasking is key.
