Brokerage Team Leader

About the role

The Brokerage Team at West Northants Council Broker care packages for Adult Social Care Services that ranges from Residential, Respite and Community based Care, Supported Living, Supported Accommodation and Support at Home in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and Council policy.

The Brokerage Team at West Northants have three service areas - 

Community Northampton 

Daventry & South Northants

Acute Brokerage

The Brokerage Team Leader will be responsible for the Community Northampton Brokerage and the role itself will require the Brokerage Team Leader to coordinate the effective and efficient workload management of the Brokerage Team and conduct monthly VIP’s for the Brokerage Officers they will also ensure that service referrals and queries are carried out in a timely manner. The post holder will need to ensure management of brokerage referrals are conducted accurately and effectively working with our colleagues in Quality, Commissioning and Adult Social Care.

The post holder will be able to manage the flow of work for the service in a professional, customer focused and efficient manner utilising a combination of people, process, and technology

The post holder will be required to improve service performance and financial efficiencies in line with overall directorate and corporate objectives through allocation of work and effective staff management.

Working Hours 

Monday - Thursday 9am - 5:30pm

Friday 9am - 5pm. 

Brokerage fall in line with Part Flexible Working Policy, this means that you will need to be in the office for a minimum of two days a week.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide operational services within the Brokerage Team for West Northants Council
  • Work closely with the Brokerage and Payments Team Manager, keeping them informed of staff, process, system or performance issues and take responsibility for resolving issues or recommending options for resolving them as appropriate.
  • Provide day to day line management for staff.
  • resolve complex service requests and queries within the agreed service standard and according to operational procedures.
  • Work collaboratively on projects that support developments / improvements for the Commissioning and Finance Service in a professional and positive way.

About you

The ideal candidate will have essential line management and the ability to work in a team, you will also have to have experience and knowledge about Social Care and Provider Services.

You must be able to communicate at all levels and build good working relationships internally and externally.

You will need to be able to have positive team work ethics as well as be able to work on your own initiative.

The role requires you to be operational as well as transactional so IT skills are essential.
