About the role
Northamptonshire Safeguarding Adults Board (NSAB) is looking for a Business Administrator (part time – 20 hours). The role will complement the existing staff team who provide a high level of service for NSAB and partner agencies.
What will you be doing?
To meet the needs of the priorities and key themes in the NSAB strategic plan, the Business Administrator will provide essential support to the Senior Business Support Officer, Business Manager and Independent Scrutineer. Tasks will include: answering the phone and responding to emails, organising large scale meetings, preparing meeting papers, and taking minutes. You will update action logs, and ensure documents are accessible for the NSAB website, transfer documents from SharePoint to Microsoft Teams, help with learning and engagement events, and finance related tasks such as raising purchase orders, as well as other important administrative tasks.
About you
Essential Criteria:
- You will be educated to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent / good standard of GCSE in Maths and English
- Proven experience as an administrator
- Knowledge of setting up systems
- Proven experience of minute taking at complex meetings
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Suite
- Proven experience of managing complex meeting schedules
- Experience of managing and responding to correspondence via email and letter
- Proven experience of working to tight deadlines
- Experience of working in a confidential setting, data protection and secure filing systems
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal with sensitive situations
- Proven experience of working with stakeholders including peers and senior officers
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of collating statistical information
- Knowledge of website content management
- Knowledge of administrating social media

The council is in the process of implementing a new pay structure and terms and conditions which will be applicable to this role. The outcome could result in a future variation to the advertised salary, and this will be discussed at interview.
