We're looking for an exceptional hard working person to join the DTI Project and Programmes Team. The Business Analysts will assist project managers and owners in determining the project scope, understand the as is and the what can be, supported by reliable evidence, analysis and insight.
The purpose of the DTI team is to provide digital and technology support for West Northamptonshire Council and our partners North Northamptonshire Council, Milton Keynes Council, and Cambridgeshire County Council. You'll join us on our journey as we create better end-to-end services for our councils and residents.
What will you be doing?
Day to day, your job will look like:
YOU are a business analyst assessing the feasibility of our projects, their impact, associated risks, and benefits. This entails evaluating all aspect of Project requirements and seeking fit for purpose solutions, ensuring impact is assessed appropriately. You will understand the resource commitment and preferred business case for a project.
By keeping an eye on the good and bad practices of the team, promoting best practice you will eradicate waste and poor behaviour. You’ll keep a track record of risks and benefits of projects, modelling the associated investment as part of the cost benefit analysis whilst also facilitating workshops, meetings, and wider communication interventions with service stakeholders to draw out all the requirement details.
You’ll evaluate options and requirements of proposed business improvements, capture and recommend organisational needs and also contribute from your findings to technical decisions that will impact your stakeholders.
You will support and co-ordinate business testing and sign off and undertaken risk assessment, mitigation and management.

About you
You will need:
- Natural openness, curiosity and optimism (a bit of bravery probably wouldn’t hurt either)
- A professional qualification or equivalent experience in business analysis and project management
- Business analysis experience within a technical / digital / IT environment
- Experience in user testing and release of software / technical solutions
- Business case development and track record of showing how they influence business decisions
- A broad understanding of the digital and technology function within a large complex enterprise environment
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
- To demonstrate understanding of equal opportunities and awareness of the behaviour, physical, social and welfare needs of others.
