Business Support Assistant (Turn Furlong)

About the role

Turn Furlong (Kingsthorpe, Northampton), provide a new integrated health and social care model of care for people needing short term support upon discharge from hospital.

The 'Recovering Independence Bed' unit will be delivered by a range of staff, from both health and social care settings. Our team will deliver clinical care, rehabilitation support and care support, ensuring people experience the best quality of service they can, in a prompt and seamless way. 

The services will provide a unique opportunity to work with a dedicated team, with experience from both elements of health and social care, to deliver vital intermediate care for people in Northamptonshire. 

The team will provide quality care for our people, specialising in rehabilitation/reablement and sub-acute care for people discharged from acute hospitals. 

As the focus of the centres is rehabilitation and reablement you will be working in an integrated multi-disciplinary team that includes senior nurses, staff nurses, unregistered staff, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, medical staff and social care colleagues.

What will you be doing?

As a Business Support Assistant within our service, you’ll provide a wide range of administrative support to managers and colleagues specifically within your team but also generally across the company. 

This includes responding to standard enquiries and correspondence, maintaining your manager’s diaries and meeting schedules.  

Raise purchase orders, check invoices are accurate and process invoices and payments.  

Support management with the recruitment and training of staff. Carrying out DBS checks, ID verification and arranging relevant training courses.  

Build good working relationships with internal and external managers, colleagues, customers and their carers. Demonstrate awareness and understanding of other people’s behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs and ensure that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and other persons. 

Our Business Support Assistants will also be required to cover reception when needed and respond to telephone and face to face enquiries, so it’s essential to the role that you have exceptional communication skills, great attention to detail and a willingness to complete tasks to the highest possible standard.

 

Working 9am - 5pm, Mon - Fri on site at Turn Furlong. 

About you

 

  • Previous experience in an administrative role or a similar environment is required.
  • A good level of numeracy and literacy is essential, as attention to detail is paramount.
  • Proficient in using IT systems to produce various documents, coordinate and manage information, and monitor resources.
  • Able to demonstrate awareness and understanding of equality and diversity, as well as the physical, social, and welfare needs of others.
  • Knowledge of data protection, GDPR, and the secure handling of confidential information is required, as we are governed by the CQC.

Must be able to work onsite, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate, at our cost. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Children and Adults Barred List check.
