Business Support Officer (Regulatory Services)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to work as a Business Support Officer within the Regulatory Services team at West Northamptonshire Council.  

We promise a varied and interesting workload that includes providing technical and administrative support for Regulatory Services. Much of this workload will involve handling queries and applications from members of the public, maintaining up to date records on databases and other systems ensuring that data protection, management, quality, sensitivity, and confidentiality requirements are met. 

This role presents a genuine opportunity to make a difference to the wellbeing of West Northamptonshire residents and help local businesses to prosper. 

The role will be based in Northampton with work across the whole district and be part-flexible in nature. It will be expected that the successful candidate can attend the office or other locations as required. 

What will you be doing?

Working within the Regulatory Services team providing technical and administrative support for Health Protection, Environmental Protection, Environmental Crime and Licensing teams.  Responding to service requests and investigating complaints to provide information to professional officers and offer technical advice to the public. 

Assist the Business Support Manager to meet corporate requirements plus helping with purchasing relevant goods and training courses for team members and external partners. 

About you

You will have excellent communication skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and experience of working with databases. 

Be able to demonstrate prioritising workloads, working to deadlines, minimise duplication and errors, working within a team as well as being responsible for your own workload and responsibilities. 

You will fully understand the role in the context of safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
