Council Tax Billing Officer

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Revenues and Benefits team as a Council Tax Billing Officer.

You will be working as part of the Council Tax team focussing on the accurate and timely billing of Council Tax to ensure collection rates are achieved, and income to the Council is maximised.

What will you be doing?

This role involves dealing with customers in person, via letter, phone and email.

You will be required to maintain an up to date knowledge of Council Tax legislation and case law to enable accurate billing to include determining which discounts and exemptions are applicable.

About you

We are looking for someone who has previous experience of working in a Revenues environment, with a flexible approach to work, excellent communication and customer service skills.  

Your ability to prioritise and manage your own workload will enable you to achieve targets and ensure a good customer service is provided at all times.

The council is in the process of implementing a new pay structure and terms and conditions which will be applicable to this role.  The outcome could result in a future variation to the advertised salary, and this will be discussed at interview.
