About the role
The Customer Service Centre is at the front end of our services providing the first point of contact for the majority of our customer queries. We firmly believe this provides a better, more responsive service to the public.
We are looking for candidates who are customer-focused and want to help with the continual development of this busy centre.
What will you be doing?
During initial training, customer contact will be mainly over the phone. You will be part of a welcoming and supportive team who will be on hand during your initial induction and beyond. As your knowledge increases, the role evolves to include face to face services at our Forum office in Towcester and across the district as required. Duties will also include email and written correspondence and working at our local community hubs, which encompass a variety of interesting work whilst supporting the local community. You will be the first point of customer contact, processing and resolving enquiries covering a wide range of council services. Candidates are required to seek and interpret complex information, provide advice, and be willing to research when necessary to resolve challenging problems.
About you
We are looking for candidates who are well organised, and have a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude. Previous customer service experience is essential, along with good communication skills and a good sense of humour. To succeed in this challenging role, you must be flexible and able to demonstrate the skills necessary to work under pressure within a team environment. You will be required to work at The Forum in Towcester and across the district from time to time as necessary.
