Cyber Security Officer

West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and energetic Cyber Security Officer to join the Cyber Security and Risk team, working within the Digital, Technology. And Innovation (DTI) department.

We’re looking for a step change in technologies, skills and processes as we move from our legacy set-up to an agile, modern hybrid environment. You’ll get to help redesign the processes and technical approach to deliver this, supported by some experienced colleagues who’ll help you learn and develop with the team.

What will you be doing?

In this role, using your proven understanding and knowledge of technology and Cyber Security, you will be play an active role in developing and driving forward all aspects of the council's Cyber Security and Risk comprising vulnerability management, incident response, governance and assurance, risk management, and providing essential and reliable services for c4,500 staff between WNC and our partners, as well as of course for the residents of West Northamptonshire.

More importantly, you will be a significant influence in the transformation and modernisation of the council’s approach to Cyber Security and Risk as it moves IT services and hosting into the cloud amongst an ever-changing landscape of compliance and security requirements to enable the delivery of services while maintaining the security of the council’s data.

About you

We are looking for a dynamic and pragmatic individual with demonstratable experience in technology and/or Cyber Security and Risk. You will have a proven track record of developing and maintaining both in-house and 3rd party provided services and technology, as well as the development of standards and processes.

Your ability to manage stakeholders and deliver operational projects efficiently will be a key part of your success.
