DAHA Accreditation Officer

About the role

As the DAHA Accreditation Project Lead, you will act as West Northamptonshire’s Domestic Abuse Housing Champion, driving the achievement of DAHA accreditation and embedding best practice across housing services. Reporting to the Community Safety Strategy Manager, you’ll work collaboratively with housing teams and partners to ensure residents affected by domestic abuse receive timely, consistent, and compassionate support with their housing needs. This is a specialist role focused on shaping policy, improving interventions, and leading service development to strengthen our community response.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Children and Adults Barred List check. What will you be doing?

This role sits within the Community Safety and Housing team, contributing to West Northamptonshire Council’s vision of safe, thriving communities. You’ll lead the DAHA accreditation process, review and develop housing policies, champion best practice, and design learning initiatives. The position requires collaboration across housing, community safety, and external partners to embed a consistent domestic abuse response. While primarily office-based, there is some flexibility for remote working. The role does not include budget or people management responsibilities but offers significant scope to influence service delivery and outcomes for residents.

About you

You are an experienced professional with a strong background in housing and domestic abuse services. You bring:

  • Expert knowledge of the DAHA framework, Domestic Abuse Act 2022, and related housing legislation.
  • Proven experience in social housing or homelessness services, including supporting those affected by domestic abuse.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, able to influence, advise, and train staff across multi-agency partnerships.
  • The ability to manage complex workloads, interpret legislation, and deliver service improvements. Educated to degree level or with equivalent extensive experience, you are passionate about empowering vulnerable people and driving organisational change.
