About the role
We are looking to recruit a talented and inspirational SEND adviser to work as part of the Early years team working with PVI settings and childminders. The role will include visiting settings and providers, offering advice and guidance to ensure high quality provision for all, but with a specific focus on pupils with SEND.
What will you be doing?
As a SEND adviser, you will be expected to work with settings and providers to continually monitor and review practice for SEND children, offering support and guidance on strategies, SEND process and funding. You will work as part of the wider Early years team, to identify training and CPD needs and facilitate this.
The role will also include liaising with other services and agencies to ensure that SEND pupils are advocated for and in ensuring that key local and national updates are disseminated.
About you
You will have extensive experience of working within the Early Education and Childcare sector and be conscientious in keeping up to date with local and national developments, understanding the challenges and benefits that these bring to the sector, specifically for pupils with SEND. Thorough knowledge of the SEDN Code of Practice and knowledge of how this can be implemented within settings and providers is essential.
The ability to build positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders is key to effective practice. You will be able to problem solve and not be afraid to have difficult and challenging conversations and resilience and tenacity will be essential attributes.
We want a talented, ambitious and passionate person with SEND knowledge and experience to come and take on this challenging and rewarding role. With excellent oral and written communication skills, you will be outcome focused.
