The role supports families to access childcare, education and family services, while ensuring high-quality early years data and accurate local service information.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Children and Adults Barred List check. West Northamptonshire Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

What will you be doing?

  • Maintain, review and update accurate databases of childcare providers, activities and services
  • Manage and support early years census data tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely returns
  • Provide information and advice on early education entitlements, childcare costs and availability
  • Offer brokerage support to help families identify suitable childcare and support services
  • Support early years providers with guidance on funding, market intelligence and business information

About you

  • Experience working with children, young people and families
  • Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in childcare, advice and guidance, data, or customer service
  • Good understanding of early years regulations, data requirements and child welfare
  • Strong communication and IT skills, with the ability to manage data accurately and work in a community-focused role
  • Excellent IT skills, in particular using Excel and accurate data input skills.
  • A real ‘eye for detail’, and to be methodical and accurate.
  • To be a great team player who is flexible and enjoys tackling a wide variety of different tasks in an interesting but changeable and fast paced environment

This is a varied and rewarding role combining data management with direct support to families and the early years sector
