Education Safeguarding Project Officer

About the role

Do you have an interest in safeguarding children in education as well as experience of multi agency working across complex environments?

The position is based at One Angel Square Northampton and the applicant may be expected to work at external sites, some homeworking may be available.


This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Children and Adults Barred List check. West Northamptonshire Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

What will you be doing?

Could you:

  • Create positive links with all education settings, developing effective ways of communicating and engaging with education and multi agency colleagues?
  • Use your strong IT, written and oral communication skills to collect and collate information and data about education safeguarding?
  • Gather and present complex information to both individuals and groups in a way they will understand?
  • Follow procedures and practice while working independently?
  • Manage Project groups and prioritise work across several project areas?


About you

It would be helpful if you have:

  • Experience of working within a safeguarding or education setting
  • A good understanding of education and safeguarding guidance and legislation
  • A degree in a relevant subject or a professional qualification at similar level
  • Good organisational skills and team working .
  • An excellent customer manner, strong verbal and written communicative skills and the desire to make a positive impact.
  • Be able to work without supervision, managing your own workload ensuring a smooth efficient service for our team and customers alike.
