HR Assistant (Policy and Resourcing)

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an HR Assistant to broaden their experience working across both our Policy and Projects Team and Resourcing Team on a fixed term contract until the end of May 2025.

We are looking for a talented individual to join us in supporting our workforce so they can in turn provide the best quality services for our residents.

What will you be doing?

In this busy role you will assist the Policy and Projects Team by delivering a full range of general administrative tasks, supporting a range of projects aligned to the Council’s People Strategy and analysing workforce data.

You will work closely with the Trade Unions during consultative meetings and act as the first point of contact in dealing with a wide variety of policy queries from HR colleagues and managers. You will have an eye for creating clear visual content and will be responsible for updating the HR intranet.

To support the Resourcing Team you will be responsible for managing the careers inbox, dealing with a range of enquiries from both applicants and hiring managers, and facilitating prompt resolutions for queries. You’ll also support with recruitment administration such as posting job advertisements via our job board aggregator.

Another important part of this role is to check and approve job advertisement approval requests for our hiring managers in a timely and efficient manner. An eye for detail is essential along with an organised approach as this is a busy role.

About you

Ideally you will have some experience of working in a busy office environment. You’ll need to have a professionally curious and adaptable approach to working, with a desire to continually improve how we do things.

You don’t need experience across all aspects of the job as that will form part of your development journey, but you will need strong Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel), good organisation skills and strong attention to detail as these are the central to the role.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!
