About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to join a forward thinking and committed senior leadership team. We are determined to improve our services for children, young people and their families and have the commitment from our Council, SEND and AP Partners and stakeholders to drive forward positive change. The Council has recently made a significant financial investment in additional capacity across our teams that work with Children and young people with SEND – we believe that this is an exciting time to make long term sustainable improvements to our local SEND system.

What will you be doing?

Come and lead our SEND Services at this exciting time of investment and improvement. You will 

  • Line manage our EHCP Service Managers, our Principal Educational Psychologist and our SEND Specialist Support Services Manager 

  • Work with senior colleagues to drive forward the SEND and AP Strategy and improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND. 

  • Be a vital part of our SEND and AP Partnership in coproducing, improving and transforming our services for children and young people with SEND and those in Alternative Provision at an accelerate pace.

About you

  • An experienced leader of SEND and AP services with a proven track record for rapid service improvement. 

  • Able to work as part of a team, taking responsibility for areas they lead on. 

  • A full UK driving license and who can access face to face meetings locally. 

  • High quality verbal and written communication skills. 

  • A commitment  to ensuring children and young people in West Northamptonshire achieve their best outcomes and develop into independent adults.
