About the role
West Northamptonshire Council is a new unitary authority formed in April 2021. It is an exciting time for the Communities and Opportunities Directorate as we build our aggregated Housing Strategy & Partnerships Team from the legacy services of the pre-unitary councils and increase our joint-working across housing, regeneration, economic growth around place-shaping and with public health to reduce health inequalities.
West Northamptonshire Council own over 11,000 Council Homes, all of which are managed by the Council’s arms-length management organisation (ALMO), Northamptonshire Partnership Homes (NPH).
We are looking for someone to provide the Council with the performance and project management support that it requires in order to develop effective governance and compliance frameworks to support NPH.

What will you be doing?
- Your role will be key in our working relationship with NPH and the effective coordination and collaboration between the council and NPH.
- You will support NPH in continuous improvement and management of the Council’s housing stock, ensuring the Council is meeting all the statutory health and safety requirements and regulatory standards.
- Through the partnership, you will ensure that the Council has assurances that NPH continues to deliver high quality services for residents, communities and the local authority
- You will work closely with various Government bodies to ensure that data requests are managed and submitted accurately and in a timely manner.
- You will work closely with NPH to ensure that the housing investment programme is successfully planned, monitored, and delivered.
About you
You will need:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster collaborative and successful partnerships, whist not being afraid to challenge when required.
- Experience in project and contract management, ideally within a housing service or closely related field.
- Experience of performance management and quality assurance methods and practices.
- Experience in analysing large data sets and be able to summarise and present findings and recommendations in a meaningful manner to a variety of audiences.
- To be pro-active, highly motivated, and able to think creatively to overcome obstacles.
