About the role
This is an exciting time to be joining our team! We are a relatively new authority, created in April 2021. Northampton is going through a period of significant change with an ambitious regeneration plan spanning multiple projects, creating a brand new public realm environment to serve the town both now and into the future.
The Town Centre Officer plays a vital role in the day-to-day management and coordination of the Northampton Market, including events on the Market Square and in the town centre. The impact of this role supports local enterprise and drives local footfall and spend, as well as generating revenue for the Council to reinvest in service delivery.
What will you be doing?
This role will act as the relationship manager for market traders overseeing effective & efficient management of all trader-related matters including billing, marketing and more. The role will also deputise for the Northampton Town Centre Manager when necessary to oversee the safety and success of the Market Square.
The Northampton Town Centre Officer is a key operational role that will enhance the delivery of a clean, safe, and thriving town centre. It provides essential capacity to manage activity, support businesses, and improve the overall visitor experience, ensuring Northampton continues to develop as a destination of choice
About you
We’re looking for someone with a keen eye for detail that takes pride in their work. You’ll need to have a solutions driven and adaptable approach to working, thrive in a busy environment with a positive approach to challenges!
Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills are key, ideally you'll have previous experience in a customer facing role. We are also looking for significant experience of administration including report writing, minute taking & effectively keeping records to achieve a consistently high performance. You’ll thrive when working collaboratively and be a team player through and through.
You will be able to work across a variety of projects and activities, being able to use your own initiative to 'think outside of the box’. You’ll use your great attention to detail to ensure our activities are innovative, creative and achieve high level results.
