Place Planning Manager

About the role

Are you looking for your next exciting challenge?

We are seeking a place planning manager to join our busy and friendly team to help strategically ensure that there is a sufficiency of mainstream and special school places across West Northamptonshire.

What will you be doing?

You will be expected to be passionate about delivering high quality school places and have a solid understanding of statutory place planning matters. You will also be expected to work closely with the DfE to demonstrate pupil need to effectively deliver new mainstream and special free schools.

In addition, the post offers a variety of other tasks including supporting the school admissions team and section 106 officers on pupil yield data as a result of new housing developments.

About you

To be successful in the role you will:

  • Be able to evidence that you meet all the essential and desirable criteria outlined in the Job Description
  • Be experienced and capable in school place planning matters
  • Bring a range of skills and experience to the role
  • Have experience in dealing with school place sufficiency issues
  • Have a positive approach to problem solving, providing innovative solutions and creating opportunities
  • Be well organised, thrive under pressure and have experience of handling a diverse & varied workload
  •  Be focused on delivering measurable outcomes, you will be a flexible self-starter, that is dedicated to a high level of results
  • Have a good track record of working with people at all levels, establishing mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and partners.
