About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join West Northamptonshire Council in a pivotal procurement role, supporting high‑profile asset and property investment and refurbishment activities that makes a real difference to Council Tenants and local communities.
As Procurement Manager, you’ll provide strategic procurement expertise across significant programmes of work, helping shape how services are delivered and ensuring best value, compliance and positive outcomes.
While employed by WNC, the role will focus on providing procurement support aligned to NPH asset‑related work, working closely with senior property and asset stakeholders in a collaborative, forward‑thinking environment to deliver a programme of procurement activities.
What will you be doing?
You’ll act as a trusted business partner, leading end‑to‑end procurement activity for complex, high‑value property and asset projects, from early strategy through to contract award and mobilisation.
Working closely with service and contract managers, you’ll help develop smart procurement approaches, support innovation and ensure robust, compliant processes that deliver value for money and manage risk.
You’ll also build strong relationships across the organisation and supply market, helping plan and deliver future procurement activity and supporting continuous improvement across asset‑focused programmes.
About you
You’re a confident and commercially‑minded procurement professional who enjoys working with a wide range of stakeholders and making things happen. You’ll bring experience of managing complex procurement exercises, ideally linked to property refurbishment, asset investment or maintenance ‑related contracts, along with a strong understanding of public sector procurement legislation and best practice.
Just as important, you’ll be collaborative, approachable and motivated by the opportunity to contribute to meaningful investment programmes, with the flexibility to work remotely while staying connected to your team and stakeholders.
Please note, you will be required to attend the office two days per week.
