Procurement Officer (Place & Economy)

About the role

West Northamptonshire Council has completed its second year of operation as a new and large unitary authority.

The Procurement and Contract Governance team play a pivotal and strategic role supporting all service areas with the many existing and new contracts with suppliers developing in West Northants area to procure goods, services and works in accordance with legislation and the Council’s financial rules.

What will you be doing?

This role will report to the Procurement Business Partner for Place and Economy supporting a wide spectrum of procurement activity from calling off of frameworks to low to medium value procurement activity that supports construction, transport, economy, planning. FM and other customer areas with their procurement needs.

This is a flexible role working mostly remotely via MS Teams but with the team working together on Thursdays and/or occasional requirements.  

About you

The successful candidate will be confident in providing advice and support on procurement projects and contract management to our key stakeholders, carry out market research, analyse data, prepare tender and framework call-off documentation typically used in the public sector. You would be familiar with using a web-based procurement portal (Intend or similar e-procurement portal) as well as advertising portals such as Contracts Finder.
