About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Public Health Team in West Northamptonshire Council as Project Manager, primarily responsible for ensuring a coherent and consistent model is developed and maintained for our business case approval process. The position is fixed term for two years on a full time basis and the successful applicant would ideally be available to start immediately, in order to maintain the current momentum in a very fast moving environment.
What will you be doing?
This role will primarily project manage and successfully develop, deliver and maintain new approval and reporting tracking systems for all Public Health WNC Business Case life cycles and support the business and financial management of Public Health Grants. The post holder will adhere to good governance and compliance within Public Health guidelines in order to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for people within West Northants.
About you
You will be a highly motivated project manager who has the appetite and ability to develop and maintain effective processes so that efficiency and good governance is achieved. You will have experience in working in a local government setting with knowledge of governance, procurement and financial processes. You will have excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Good communication skills are also essential, with the ability to present reports and findings to senior colleagues.

The council is in the process of implementing a new pay structure and terms and conditions which will be applicable to this role. The outcome could result in a future variation to the advertised salary, and this will be discussed at interview.
