About the role
The purpose of this role is to lead the delivery of Careers Hub projects and programmes that bring together employers, schools, colleges and providers across the South Midlands region. The postholder will manage and deliver careers education and employer engagement initiatives, strengthening links between education and industry, enhancing opportunities for young people.
What will you be doing?
This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in the delivery of Careers Hub programmes and initiatives that improve careers education and employer engagement opportunities for young people across the region. You will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of a range of projects, funded programmes and strategic initiatives, ensuring activities are delivered effectively, compliantly and in line with agreed objectives, funding requirements and partnership commitments.
Working across multiple projects, you will develop and manage detailed project plans, overseeing timelines, resources, budgets and performance measures to ensure successful delivery against agreed milestones. You will proactively monitor progress, manage risks, resolve delivery challenges and ensure all reporting and governance requirements are met.
A key aspect of the role will be building and maintaining strong relationships with schools, colleges, employers and wider stakeholders to maximise engagement with Careers Hub activities and strengthen collaborative working.
Through these partnerships, you will help improve careers education outcomes, broaden opportunities for young people and support the development of meaningful employer connections.
You will also work closely with external delivery partners, providers, subcontractors and regional or national organisations, coordinating activity, managing expectations and ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an organised and collaborative project professional who is passionate about education, skills and helping young people achieve successful futures.
About you
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of local and national policy relating to careers education, skills development, economic growth and youth progression. You will be aware of the challenges and barriers that some young people face when accessing education, employment and training opportunities and be passionate about developing initiatives that improve outcomes, raise aspirations and create pathways into successful careers.
You will bring either a relevant project management qualification or significant experience of leading and delivering complex projects and programmes. With excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills, you will be confident managing multiple priorities, coordinating partners, monitoring performance and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and in line with agreed objectives. Your ability to translate strategic priorities into successful, measurable outcomes will be key to supporting the delivery of Careers Hub programmes and creating meaningful opportunities for young people.
