About the role
At West Northamptonshire Council, we are committed to the importance of promoting equal opportunities, valuing diversity and creating an inclusive working environment for all our employees.
As a Quality Improvement Officer, you will ensure contract compliance and raise quality and standards within commissioned services that support our frail and vulnerable adults.
A DBS check will be carried out and paid for by WNC.
What will you be doing?
Working alongside our colleagues in Quality Improvement Team you’ll support and undertake contractual monitoring arrangements with service providers. Developing and maintaining positive business relationships with service providers to consider best practice and innovation to support services are up to date and of good quality.
You’ll be responsible for target setting and performance management of contracted services and work collaboratively with providers to achieve improvement plans and ensure competency going forwards. By following Safeguarding procedures, which may include monitoring, reporting and investigating complaints from service users, adults, families, carers and staff and ensuring that the Council’s contractual requirements are specified and communicated.
About you
You don’t need experience across all aspects of the job as that will form part of your development journey, but you will need experience of working in, or alongside provider services and a good understanding of Health and Social Care, as this is the central to the role.
You’ll need to have a solutions, driven and adaptable approach to working, thrive in a busy environment with a positive approach to challenges!
Ideally you will have previous experience of regulation, national standards and current policy relating to support and care services. You will be able to smoothly manage quality processes, whilst being able use your own initiative to 'think outside of the box’. You’ll use your great attention to detail to ensure compliance within our provider market.
If you’ve got experience with Office 365, that’s great, but not essential; being adept at building relationships and quickly developing an understanding of quality assurance are most important.
