Senior IT Engineer - MS365

About the role

We are looking for a MS365 Administrator with extensive experience working in a large MS365 environment – 4,500+ users. The position involves overseeing platform management, policy updates, and system upgrades. You will serve as the primary contact for all changes, ensure security and licensing compliance, introduce new services, and provide third-level and major incident support. This position is part of a relatively new team  that takes overall ownership of Microsoft 365 within West Northamptonshire Council (WNC).

What will you be doing?

Working within the busy Digital, Technology and Innovation (DTI) division, the primary responsibility of the role is to help manage the WNC tenant, along with associated services, and to be the single point of contact for changes, policy updates, upgrades as well as the principal escalation point within the team. This role will also commission new services, and provide 3rd level and major incident support to technical teams. In this position you will play a key role and work on various workstreams and projects etc. This is an excellent opportunity to join a newly created function and contribute to WNC’s transformation and digital journey.

About you

You will have extensive experience managing all aspects of the MS365 platforms in a large-scale MS365 environments. Proficiency in MS365 administration, including Teams, Azure AD, and security protocols, is essential. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams are crucial. You should also have an innovative mindset for process improvements.
