Technical Support Officer (Community Infrastructure Levy)

About the role

West Northamptonshire Council is looking for a Technical Support Officer to work within the Community Infrastructure Levy team.  

This role is a 12 week fixed term contract based 2 days in The Forum, Towcester office and 3 days working from home.

What will you be doing?

In this role you will be working in an established, motivated and supportive team. 

The role consists of assisting the CIL Officer and the Principal Enforcement and Monitoring Officer in the day to day administration and support of the Community Infrastructure Levy process.  

This involves ensuring accurate data recording, processing and management of CIL liabilities including regularly communicating with Agents/Landowners and the Development Management Team.

The attached Job Description is for a Technical Support Officer within the Planning and Building Control Service. The roles and responsibility for this vacant post are commensurate with the JD however you will be carrying out this function within the CIL Team which is part of the Planning Service.  


About you

You will have a genuine interest in planning and have a methodical analytical approach, with strong attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the Community Infrastructure Levy and its associated Regulations; please ensure this is clearly evidenced within your application. 

You will also be confident working in a busy, customer focused environment and enjoy being part of a dynamic team.  

Candidates must have attained a minimum qualification of GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
