Temporary Accommodation Officer

What will you be doing?

Working alongside our colleagues in the Temporary Accommodation Team, you’ll deliver a high quality, responsive and customer focused housing management and lettings service for homeless households living in temporary accommodation, ensuring all homes are well managed, maintained in a safe and habitable condition, and meet all statutory requirements. You will be allocating temporary accommodation and supporting residents of temporary accommodation to sustain their accommodation.   

About you

You don’t need experience across all aspects of the job as that will form part of your development journey, but you will need experience of managing temporary accommodation, supported housing or social rented housing, as this is central to the role.  

You’ll need to have a solutions driven and adaptable approach to working, thrive in a busy environment with a positive approach to challenges! 

You will have previous experience of using your excellent communication skills to support a wide range of people who may present with complex and challenging behaviour, and you will be able to use empathy to support customers in a sensitive and appropriate manner. You will be able to smoothly manage the temporary accommodation processes whilst being able use your own initiative to 'think outside of the box’. You will work effectively in a multi-agency framework to meet the needs of your customers, and you will be able to work well under pressure to meet targets and deadlines.
