Transformation Project Manager (2 Year Fixed Term Contract)

About the role

We are a team of Project Managers, Business Analysts and a Change and Engagement function; who support the Communities & Opportunities directorate with Transformational activity across the directorate and wider organisational collaboration initiatives.

We are at the centre of a major transformation programme, working with Services, Business Partners and other key stakeholders to shape the design and delivery of a major portfolio that spans the whole organisation.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Project Manager to join our ambitious team. This post will play a key role in supporting West Northamptonshire Council on its transformation journey.  

What will you be doing?

Initially this post will specifically lead on a project which will seek to deliver multiple linked capital projects to rationalise space, improve storage and potential re purpose existing buildings, deliver an improved customer experience and provide a more sustainable approach to back of house storage and services.

There could be an opportunity to manager other related transformation projects depending on capacity and priorities.  

About you

You will be part of a small team of Project Management professionals, so experience of managing resources and good time management is essential, along with excellent communication skills.

You will have proven experience of working collaboratively with enabler services, such as IT, HR, Finance, Legal and Communications to define requirements and design solutions. You will take responsibility for identifying new ways of working and realising identified business benefits.

You will be experienced in PRINCE2 project management or other project/programme management, and people change management methodologies, and follow robust tools/standards to ensure your projects run smoothly.

The council is in the process of implementing a new pay structure and terms and conditions which will be applicable to this role.  The outcome could result in a future variation to the advertised salary, and this will be discussed at interview.
