Weekend Assistant

About the role

This is an opportunity to join our LibraryPlus team at Towcester Library, where you will use your customer-facing skills to deliver a wide range of services, including the provision of activities and services for communities, children and their families. Dealing with a variety of enquiries and tasks, including joining new borrowers, cash handling, and supporting volunteers, you will ensure that each customer has a positive experience in the library.

This role will require regular weekend working and candidates will need to be flexible to the business needs of the service, including the ability to travel to other locations as required. This post is part time, working 4 hours each Saturday between 10am - 2pm. The role will be based at Towcester Library.

What will you be doing?

LibraryPlus offers a wide range of services. You will provide a first point of customer service, assisting with library enquiries, and with West Northants Council queries such as Blue Badge and concessionary bus pass applications, making this an ideal opportunity for an excellent communicator. You will promote and enable a diverse range of volunteering opportunities in the library and wider community.

We aim to empower our customers by supporting them to become digitally fluent and with our core offer of reading materials and learning, we offer traditional services alongside a fast-paced and busy work environment to challenge and develop the successful candidate.
