About the role

West Northants Council’s Adult Social Care service are recruiting for Assessment and Enablement Workers for our Northampton Community Hub 1, which covers postcodes NN1 and NN3.

We are the front door for these communities so if you are passionate about working with people to promote independence and dedicated to making a difference, then we would love to hear from you.
 

What will you be doing?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic person who will become part of the local community and work directly with people undertaking conversations with people, signposting, and supporting them to access their community and completing Care Act assessments of people to identify any needs. You will also be asked to undertake safeguarding enquiries.

West Northants Council uses the “three conversations” model which re-emphasises focus on people, their strengths, and the networks through the development of community and Inclusion hubs. We are looking for Assessment and Enablement Workers who are passionate about ensuring people have choice and control over their own support needs and focus on the person, their strengths, and networks.

Our team works with a wide range of individuals including older people, people with physical, sensor or cognitive impairments and people with mental health needs.

Standard hours are 9 to 5.30, however there is the option for flexible working. 

About you

You will have a NVQ III or equivalent or the ability to evidence and demonstrate on the job experience working at this level in Health and Social Care/Social Care related subject. 3 A levels or equivalent and GCSE grade C and above or equivalent in Maths and English.

Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment

Have the passion to promote people’s strengths and the ability to make a difference in a safe working approach to social work practices

Have up to date knowledge of legislation and demonstrable experience of delivering social care outcomes to people in need.

Have good communication and IT skills

Able to prioritise, using a risk-based approach
