About the role
The role is a 25 Hour Driving Post and you will be responsible for completing vehicle checks and reporting any defects.
You will collect people with Learning ,Physical and Complex Difficulties from their home address and take them to the Day Centre and back home again at the end of the day, some of these people will be wheelchair users, you will be required to operate the vehicle tail-lift safely. The hours will be between the morning and afternoon so you need to be flexible and work 2 shifts each day.
Always ensure that reasonable care is taken to protect the health, safety and welfare of yourself and other persons while driving, also when people embark and disembark the vehicle .At times you will be assisting the accompanying escort for the safety of all passengers.
You will need to complete the required paper work before and after each journey.
What will you be doing?
Applicants must be physically fit and have the ability to Drive a 9 Seater accessible Ford transit type vehicle . You have to show flexibility and help to plan the journey.
Previous experience of working with people who have learning difficulties would be desirable ,but training will be offered.
The role requires a person who can show kindness, compassion and is willing to learn how to understand our customers needs, over time.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate, at our cost.
About you
You will show kindness and compassion toward our customers. Have a good understanding around Health and Safety and implement this in your role as a Driver.
You be responsible for ensuring the vehicle is maintained and fit for purpose. You will need to be fit and have the ability to manoeuvre people, using differing levels of physical effort.
The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and work well as part of a Team and also working well on your own.
You will need to be reliable, flexible and cope under pressure.
UK full clean driving license is required.
