Enforcement Team Leader

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity in our Highways & Transport Traffic Enforcement Team for an Enforcement Team Leader.  We are looking for a highly motivated, efficient, flexible individual who has proven experience of operating at a senior level and will have experience of managing a team preferably in the field of parking, bus lane and moving traffic enforcement or local government.

What will you be doing?

This role covers the statutory legislation governing parking, bus lane and moving traffic enforcement which is currently managed in-house.  There are strict statutory timeframes so the role will be demanding so only those applicants who have the essential requisite skills and legislative knowledge as detailed within the Job Description will be considered for this post.  The role is to develop further a forward-looking service that meets our primary objectives of improving road safety and reducing congestion on our road network.

The workload will be extremely varied and will require you to be flexible and use your own initiative to meet the demands of the role.

The role will include but not limited to:

  • Supervision of the dedicated Enforcement Investigation officers
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage the workload of yourself and your team within statutory timeframes
  • Day to day responsibility for the processing systems
  • Complaints
  • Freedom of Information requests
  • Provision of accurate reports, statistics and case information
  • Ordering goods/services and processing suppliers invoices
  • Regular policy reviews, keeping abreast of changes in legislation & implementation of appropriate changes

The role will have some flexibility but you will be required to come into the office on a regular basis.

About you

We are looking for someone who can work to tight deadlines, under pressure, and who is friendly, reliable, willing and ready to learn new things.

Applicants will need to be comfortable working as part of a team, be able to demonstrate excellent communication and listening skills, along with a commitment to continuous improvement.  You will need a good level of IT skills and have a good attention to detail.
